1st Regional Workshop on Organ Donation & Transplantation

The first Regional Workshop on Organ Donation & Transplantation was held on 3rd & 4th of August 2018 at NEDFi House, Guwahati in collaboration with NOTTO. The workshop was inaugurated by Minister of state for Health & Family Welfare Sri Pijush Hazarika. It was graced by Prof. (Dr) Vimal Bhandari, Director,NOTTO, Prof. (Dr) Anup Kr. Barman,DME, Assam & Ex HOD of Nephrology, GMCH, Prof.(Dr) Atindra Kr Adhikari, Principal cum Chief Superintendent, GMCH & Officiating Director ROTTO, Guwahati, Dr. P.J Gogoi, Sr. Regional Director, MoHFW, Govt. of India.

A galaxy of experts in the field of Organ Transplantation from all over the country attended the workshop and deliberated on the various aspects of deceased Organ Donation & Transplantation. Delegates (Doctors, Medical Superintendents & Transplant Coordinators) from all over the state & other North- eastern states participated in the workshop. The workshop was very informative with the participants actively taking part in the interactive session and sorting out the various doubts regarding this noble cause.

Panel discussion and video presentation on organ retrieval were also a part of the scientific programme.
