IEC Activity Report for the Organ Donation Month, July,2026 and 16th Indian Organ Donation Day

During the Organ Donation Month- July,2026 and 16th Indian Organ Donation -3rd August 2026 intensified IEC Activities were conducted under Angdaan-Jeevan Sanjeevani Abhiyaan.

1. Publicity through Digital LED Board of the office of the DIPR Assam

Publicity through digital LED Board of the office of the DIPR,Assam at prominent locations of the State about the key information of deceased organ donation for greater reach to the community were carried out throughout the month of July, 2026 up to 3rd August 2026 16th Indian Organ Donation Day.

2. Banners and LED display at the Institution.

Key messages about organ donation were prominently displayed at GMCH and other private institutions through Banners and LED Display.

3. Awareness Meetings - 3 Nos

a. Awareness Meeting with Police Personnel at Assam Police Headquarter, Ulubari, Guwahati for sensitizing on deceased organ donation on 21st July,2026.

b. Awareness Meeting cum Pledging drive at Apollo International Hospital held on 28th July, 2026. Total 18 nos of pledges were registered on that programme.

c. Awareness programme at GNRC, Dispur on 31st July, 2026

4. 12 nos of Street Plays in the public places of Guwahati City

5. Television Campaign through 4 prominent news channels of the State for greater outreach . 50 sec duration ad was broadcasted for 4 days @5 times per day from 31st July 2026 to 3rd August 2026.

6. Radio Campaign through 4 FM Channels of the State . 40 sec duration Radio jingle was aired for 10 days @10 times per day. from 25th July 2026 to 3rd August 2026. Radio Jingle in Aakashwani Guwahati also continued from 31st July to 9th August.

7. Talk show in Aakashwani Guwahati. Dr. Pankaj Baruah, Jt. Director, ROTTO Guwahati was the resource person for the talk show.

8. Message from Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma Hon’ble CM of Assam published through print ads in newspapers of Assam on the occasion of 16th Indian Organ Donation Day -3rd August 2026

Walkathon

Proud to have Shri Jatin Bora, renowned Actor of Assamese Film Industry leading our Walkathon on 16th Indian Organ Donation Day -3rd August 2026 held at GMCH premises . The walkathon saw more than 200 participants comprising from medical fraternity, students, transplant hospitals and concerned stakeholders.

11. “Towards Zero Loss to Potential Organ Donors” -Regional CME on 7th August 2026 under Jug Jug Jiyo Campaign

Regional CME ” Towards Zero Loss to Potential Organ Donors” organised by ROTTO Guwahati, GMCH under Jug Jug Jiyo Abhiyaan. Chief Guest Dr. Anil Kumar, Director, NOTTO, New Delhi delivered the key address. With the participation of the officials from the concerned SOTTOs and transplant hospitals of the region, the CME has proved to be a platform for sharing of knowledge and experiences and strengthening the deceased organ donation program in the NE region.

12. 2 nos of Awareness Talk Show on the occasion of World Organ Donation Day- 13th August 2026

Dr. (Prof.) Kanakeswar Bhuyan, Director, ROTTO Guwahati participated as a resource person for the talk shows on Doordarshan Guwahati and RED FM 93.5 .
