On 14th September 2017, ROTTO Guwahati was invited by NERIM

On 14th September 2017, ROTTO Guwahati was invited by North Eastern Regional Institute of Management ( NERIM ) to conduct an awareness talk on Organ Donation. This event was initiated by Gauhati Medical College Student Union and held at NERIM’s campus.

Around 150 students along with some staff of the college has participated in the session. Participants were given an introduction on organ donation and brain death by Dr. Rajeev T. P ( HOD-Urology, Gauhati Medical College & Hospital, Nodal Officer, ROTTO Guwahati.

In his talk, Dr. Rajeev T. P explained the following points:

1. Who can be a donor.
2. Organ Donation Statistics in India.
3. Myths about organ donation in different religions.
4. Difference between natural death and brain stem death.
5. Organ donation and its type – live and deceased donation.

The entire group was so energised that they support organ donation movement in a big way. At the end, organ donation pledging forms were distributed to the participants. Also each participants were given leaflets which contains lots of information on organ donation so that they can share the same to their friends and family members.
