Honoring the Noble Legacy of Late Shri Hemonta Singh (20/07/2025)

It is with profound sorrow that we share the passing of Late Shri Hemonta Singh on 20th July 2025, at the young age of 18. In the face of immense grief, his parents demonstrated remarkable courage by deciding to donate his kidneys. Their selfless decision gave a new lease of life to two recipients.

To pay tribute to this noble act, the State Administration took the initiative to honor the deceased donor. On 21st July, the District Commissioner of Nagaon District attended the funeral of Late Shri Hemonta Singh, offering homage and extending heartfelt condolences to the bereaved family.

This inspiring gesture not only commemorated the young donor’s sacrifice but also served as a strong message on the importance of deceased organ donation, encouraging greater awareness and participation in this life-saving cause.
